just copy and paste both commands at the same time - Windows will do the rest

There's nothing unusual there that I can see - you may need to use the option to access the TEMP folder again, but it shouldn't inhibit you at all?

I may be trying to do this wrong; what is the correct procedure for copying the contents of the manifests folder (.manifest files) into C:\windows\temp\checksur\winsxs\manifests?

Since I can't use windows to access the C:\windows\temp directory and it's subdirectoryies is there any reason not use msdos to copy the new .manifest files into the \manifest directory?

There are a number of problems with this approach -
1) permissions issues - no ordinary user has permissions to add files to the Manifests or Packages folders, and the permissions of the resulting files will need to be carefully reset afterwards.

2) Using CheckSUR ensures that all resulting necessary registry entries are appropriately filled. - although this should also be checked during any later CheckSUR run, it's preferably done at this time.

You could however try using CMD to copy the files to the TEMP folder?

The files that you sent are located in my download folder. So, using the cmd window, I can navigate into that folder and then just [copy *.* c:\windows\temp]?

Assuming your downloads folder is in the default location, you can try using this command (from an Elevated Command Prompt)
Code:
COPY %userprofile%\downloads\tbeaa\Manifests\*.* C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSUR\Winsxs\Manifests

.

You have some serious problems there

This indicates that there is a persistent problem with bitflips in the machine. These are usually caused by faulty hardware - often bad RAM

You need to run a memory tester to check for the problem... follow the instructions here, and run at least three full passes... RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Post your results, and if necessary purchase new RAM - there is no real point in continuing to fix problems if more are going to spring up as we go.
