Where did you punt the Extracted COMPONENTS file ? The default place from my instructions would be on the Desktop, in a file named 'tbeab'
If it's elsewhere, copy and paste it using Windows Explorer to the target location (C:\Windows\System32\config)

I only need the CheckSUR.log (and maybe the CheckSUR.Persist.log) file for the moment.

Things have changed. Last night when I shut down, windows began installing updates. This morning the windows update feature works(?). It reports there are no important updates and 12 optional. The history was reporting 'never updated', now reports 365 updates dating back to 2013. I'm attaching the two files you requested plus a screen shot of the CBS folder showing the other files that were not attached.

There's a fair amount of corruption present (although a lot less than the original scan back in February found (212 errors!)

I need to have a look at your COMPONENTS registry hive

Please copy the C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS file (no extension) to your desktop and then compress it - upload the compressed file to your favoured fileshare site (preferably Dropbox or OneDrive) and post a link.
