    Failed update

Of the 25 updates last night the Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB3084135) failed. I have no idea why but sometimes an update does fail. I don't worry about it. Does anyone know why this update failed? Or, in general, why some updates fail?

Sometimes, updates get queued in the wrong order, or one update requires a reboot before another can update the same component.

Did that update go in the second time around?
If not, Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

Please also post the C:\Windows\windowsudpate.log file

I just looked at update history in control panel. Today's 03:00 check for updates retried and was successful. Thanks for your reply and information.
