how do I uninstall it? I don't see it's name in the installed update list. The name KB2467174 is not listed either.

Ir should be in the Programs listing, rather than the Updates list.

I did still the same error after I rerun checksur. Someone told me that the last resort is manually removing the references to the update from the registry. Do you think you can help with this. Unfortunately, this issue is non-trivial and makes windows update fail when updating.

Did you check the listing again? - there may be another one there (Visual Studio 2008 - related?)
Please sort the programs listing in alphabetic order, and post the list of the 'Microsoft Visual...' entries
