Hi,
Well that win-10 update pretty much says what the stall is all about
Which has been pretty frequent lately = the stalling searching for updates that is.

Well personally I removed or blocked all those Windows 10 Upgrade updates. If any made it onto my machine I just restored a system image backup and then blocked the updates.

If you don't want the Windows 10 upgrade there must be a way to remove those Windows 10 upgrade updates.

Re: Windows Update issues. Here's what worked for me. I cannot say that it will work for you and will post only for information purposes rather than suggesting that you try it.

Remove these updates if installed via Elevated Command Prompt > Powershell.

Code:
wusa /uninstall /kb:3083325 /quiet /norestart
wusa /uninstall /kb:3083324 /quiet /norestart

Reboot (without internet connection) and run Advanced Disk Cleanup including WU cleanup.

Reboot.

Use IE to manually download kb3075851 and force install it. Link and command line in this post:

KB3083324 Any Info please

Problem with getting any updates

Hi John, did you manage to upload those updates ?

I did and am very careful now which one I do update and which I hide. Today I was asked to update
KB 915597, but that seams to be a bad one so I have hidden it.

Just you know it'son it's way ......

RE: KB915597

As far as I know that's a windows defender definitions update and not bad at all unless of course you have disabled windows defender. If that's the case and KB915597 still offers to download and install then it just means that windows defender hasn't been totally disabled.

See this thread:

*&^%$#@! MSpy did it again!

Thanks Challenger, that is an interesting conversation.

I have Windows Defender turned off for ages, because it's useless. I have hitman pro.

I just had a look and for some reason it has been turned back on
