    Problem with getting any updates

Now I fired up my old Toshiba laptop this afternoon as I am using it again tomorrow after a break - and to save some download on my mobile modem tried downloading updates at home.

Thing is the darn thing just gets stuck endlessly searching for updates. I have let ti run like in the pic for an hour yet nothing. My last updates were the 4th August and I have the machine set to let me choose what updates I want to download and install.

    Any ideas please?

Not sure mate and I shall have to search for them tomorrow - have just packed that machine up for the night. I did try leaving the darn thing for ages but it just kept going back to the update window that comes up when one clicks on update.

Have done chkdsk and sfc plus the usual malware scans just in case but nothing except for a few cookies and PUP's

Am not having much luck with the updates at all - I can check and there are some there and I tick them for download install but it just reverts back to the window with that rotten 10 waiting see pics.

    Hello John,

I have been dealing with the same thing for weeks (amongst other problems) , and just now I managed to down load 24, but it took a long time waiting and re trying. And then .......... suddenly it works !!!!

Noel is helping me at the moment.

Yep I do Thelma and hopefully Noel can come up with an answer because I have 40 + stacked up. I should add I thought it might be the use of a mobile broadband or the wifi at home and I did try today on my Ethernet cable (hard wired) but no difference.

I think it is probably something to do with my system and I have tried all he usual stuff - just cannot seem to pin it down

I need to down load an other 17 and I now do it in bits of 3, seams to go better.

But then again, where are some uploads to avoid, they mess things up, I wander if there is a full list of them some where knocking about ?????
