Windows 7 activation

Hi, This is my first post. Was looking for a little help as im stuck.

My aunties laptop (an old advent q200)wouldn't boot, think the partition was corrupted, so I used partedmagic to retrieve her important files. I then formatted the drive and then freshly reinstalled windows 7 home premium.

During the setup process it didn't ask me for the windows activation code and it doesn't show any option for inputting it under computer/properties (where it should say product id or change product key). Ive tried slui.exe 3 but comes up with don't have correct permissions.

I cant use windows update yet as I need the correct drivers to connect to the internet. So im stuck and any advice would be great.
thanks

You'll need to download the drivers from the manufacturer's site - on your machine - and then copy them to your aunties for install (using a USB stick preferably)

To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool
(download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.x
- in your own thread, please

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!

It wont make any difference. The install is counterfeit.
You need to claim a refund from the vendor because they are frauds.

Thanks again. You can tell that from the report? Would a counterfeit copy never prompt for an activation code?

Tried reformatting again and installing to see if I missed the section that asks to input the activation code at install but its not there.

Think I will get a refund and use my windows 7 pro installation disk and buy another activation code for it.
Think ive found a page with some of the correct drivers.

If you buy on eBay or similar sites, you WILL get ripped off.
Buy ONLY from known, reputable dealers.
