windows search missing from windows features

    windows search missing from windows features


    I can't turn on windows search because it's not even in windows features.
    ran sfc and failed. dism didn't throw any errors, though

    Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

    If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

    Please also post the C:\Windows\windowsudpate.log file

    I had to disable and re-enable the feature through dism.
    dism /Online /Disable-Feature /FeatureName:"SearchEngine-Client-Package"
    dism /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:"SearchEngine-Client-Package"

As the tittle says, my search box is missing and the box at turn Windows features on or off is checked, I don’t not what else to do I tried restoring and it dint work. By the way I don’t have windows 7 cd because my computer was pre-loaded so I don’t have the disc. Ill be glad if someone...
Hi, Ok so everything was working well until the last couple of Windows Updates. There are 4 updates: Update for Windows 7 (KB974431) Installation status: Failed Error details: Code 800F081F Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 8 for Windows 7 (KB976325)
The search box is gone from windows explore (not IE) and the startmenu. Researched the issue. Already checked to seach if the search field was enabled in control panel>turn on/off features. Tried turning it off and on then restarting. Running the ultimate edition. Don't have any past restore...
