Windows Update error code 80246008, Windows 7 Home Premium x64

Hi,

For a while I have been having problems updating Windows 7 Home Premium x64 using Windows Update, getting the Error Code 80246008 (please “Error Code 80246008” pic attached).

I decided to investigate this and found this Microsoft page:

Tried to start BITS but got the Error Code 2147024894 (please see “BITS start error” pic attached)
I then downloaded WindowsUpdateDiagnostic.diagcab and ran it.

Tried first to troubleshoot and repair BITS but also some error messages surfaced (please see “BITS troubleshooting errors” pic attached)

Then tried to troubleshoot and repair Windows Update but also got error messages (please see “Windows Update Troubleshooting errors” pic attached)

Yesterday I did also a partial re-installation of the OS (only key files), using the OS image that came pre-installed with the laptop. This did not work. (I did a fresh reinstall of the OS just some 3 weeks ago to get rid of all the little bugs that had accumulated so far, which makes this situation a bit more frustrating).

Since none of these things helped I did what you state on the Windows Update Posting page:
1 – Ran the SURT from the Desktop and it seemed to install a file. (please see “Hotfix for Windows message” pic attached). It took about 20 mins or so to do it.
2 – Did a sfc /scannow from command prompt, logged in as admin. (please see “sfc scannow check results” pic attached)
3 – Did a system reboot.
4 – Tried windows update, no luck.

I believe I have attached everything you need EXCEPT the CBS file because it is too large.
The CBS file, already compressed, is about 139MB. (please see "CBS folder original contents" pic attached).

I deleted inside the compressed file all cabinet files except the latest one but it still ran at about 27MB, thus making it impossible to attach it on this post. So, I uploaded this onto my google drive and I leave you here the link:

PS - English is not my native language (I'm Portuguese) and, even though I've often dabbled over the internet, trying to fix this or that with my laptop, I'm hardly an expert on IT stuff! Thanks!
