    Cannot uninstall kb2952664

Reason for removing is Hdd thrashing and this update seems to be a culprit.
So using Windows 7 and I have tried the following:

Control panel>Uninstall a program>View installed updates. Right click and uninstall then reboot.
Command prompt using wusa /uninstall method and reboot.

After reboot update comes straight back into installed list. There is a restore point created but I am assuming that is from the uninstall process.

Anyway I found this thread: KB2952664 installed "automatically" after uninstalling certain updates

The OP has the same problem and I have tried all the solutions, to the point where it was solved, it didn't work for me.

    Please any advice welcome!

Edit: I have also done the SFC scan, rebooted without internet connection and actually disabled WU service but the update still remains back everytime.

Have you actually allowed time for the 'disk thrashing' to finish? Leave it overnight and seeif it stops.
If not, follow the WindowsUpdate Posting Instructions and post the requested logs

Yes i have waited and does stop but for a large period of time my pc will be at a halt.
When i have no plan to upgrade Windows i feel this update useless.

Im having trouble attaching the logs, Brings a 404 - File or directory not found error?

Possibly you're trying to upload a file that's too big? if it's more than 8MB compressed, the server won't accept it. You need to remove the older CBSPersist files until the total compressed size drops below 8MB - you can always upload the other files separately.

Here you go then. I had to delete all persist.rar's as they was over 8MB each. I hope you didnt need them?

You say that all the CBSPersist files were over 8MB compressed?

The current one (CBS.log) is a normal size - please run another SFC /SCANNOW, and post the new CBS.log (compressed) - you'll have to copy it to the desktop for compression and upload.

This thread is now irrelevant as decided to upgrade to 10.

    Thanks for the note!

Good luck with 10 - I rather like it.

I like it so far, still get confused with having control panel + a settings app but hey ho.
