I did not see where that Forbes article mentioned MS "forcing W10 to be installed" or "forcing W7 users to upgrade to W10".[/QUOTE]

@UsernameIssues:
It says in the headline: Microsoft Forces Windows 10 Onto Windows 7 And Windows 8!
It also is quite remarkable that MicroSoft confirms this as being "their new policy"!

Please to let me know if there is anybody out there having the same problems I had after yesterdays' patches, not being able to access the files on my C: drive.
The drive itself was visible and showed all directories, but it wasn't possible to access the files.

I am very curious as to what has caused this problem to occur.

Thanks in advance.

RI.

I had been free of this nightmare until shutting down last night. Damned MS forced something through even though I had chosen to let me decide. I go to shut down last night and 9 updates run through. I'm pissed. I had not seen win10 update since June and bang I'm right back there again.

Unifex, LadyFitz and UserName, I am following along with the disable upgrade in Group Policies,,,fingers crossed.

Roland, how are you making out with having run that batch file? I'll wait to run it until I hear how your luck is going.

Thanks to All who are contributing, except MS.

I never could find where or how to disable the upgrade in Group Policies.

LadyFitz, sorry. You seem frustrated with that. May I say that I have had no problem finding it. Anything I can do to help? PM me if you'd like to.

Frustrated is the mild word for it. Obviously, we have a failure to communicate.

OK, I followed the directions in your Word doc to get to Local Group Policy Editor. Here is what I got:

KB3035583 Reappeared After Being Hidden-capture.1.jpg

The next step is to go to Administrative Templates. Which one? I have two of the *&^%$#@! things and your directions don't tell me which one to go to.

A way to download KB3035583?
