Maybe because you still have 2 days left til you have to activate, after that it might not show as genuine anymore.
not sure how this works, first time when I tried to upgrade to win 10 it continued without any error , it failed at last because i dint have enough space in my C drive.

I cleared some data and now when installing it immediately asks for product key. I guess i made huge mistake by deciding to chose to upgrade.

Anyways thank you everyone for your inputs.

If the Dell Latitude 6430 in your system specs is the laptop being referred to you can do right to the Dell support site and use the "Detect Drivers" or "Find it myself" options seen at Product Support | Dell US

The details show 7 and 8 support while the last update was in late March 2014 indicating likely 8.1 compatibility since the model is only 2yrs. old this month! 8.1 drivers and apps will generally run on 10 especially for the 64bit side of things. Not only that but on the previous support page you see...

This package provides Intel Management Engine Components Installer Driver and is supported on Latitude 3470/3570/3450/3550/3460/3560 and XPS 9343 running the following Operating Systems: Windows 10.

    Importance

When going to select the OS option and looking up the two chipset drivers that comes to another page showing there's adequate support for 10. Intel(R) Management Engine Components Installer Driver Driver Details | Dell US

The question now would be if that didn't come with the Ultimate edition already on which is highly doubtful to begin with unless odered specifically then who substituted the Pro preinstall? Was it the company having a volume license or other?

The tool will work if the installation had been legit to start with as far as seeing it reactivated while the smart move if able to get the GenuineTicket option would be to plan a full clean install and the need to upgrade any problems that won't go on immediately likely needing to see the 10 or latest versions!

When changing the OS you always have to expect the need for updated softwares like the av program as one good example! Another fast solution is buying the 10 license if needed. You can go retail or OEM to see a legit 10 Pro install go right on either at the MS online store or a vendor like Newegg carrying both options.

A look back at what I ended up doing with an older HP model laptop upgraded from the 32bit 6 Home Premium to 64bit 10 Home as well as even further back when replacing the OEM Vista more then once on another Toshiba laptop tells me the present OS primary is bad news!

As mentioned at the beginning of the thread you need to dig up the product key for 7 and unfortunately either nuke the 7 Ultimate install entirely or try an Upgrade to Repair type install in order to clean up the troublesome Ultimate or start over fresh with a clean install of 7 Pro with SP1 downloaded if not able to find an OEM 7 Pro/SP1 iso available along with recovering the OEM factory product key to see a fresh 7 install activated.

Once seen to you can follow the guide for seeing a clean install of 10 go on but after wiping the OEM partitions off the drive completely in order to put on a fresh primary! Actually I would first back everything up you can from the drive since the volume is tainted and will continue being a problem before seeing a fast temp install of 7 go on with SP1 and see that activated before proceeding. The software situtation will need to be addresses one program at a time once 10 is on for any compatibility issues.

The end result will see a fast clean and legit 7 install followed by the nice clean install of 10 where you can then go for the updated versions of the programs previously in use. Once you have everything on fresh and running well plan on seeing a full System Image Backup of the drive! Having and keeping images can actually save the day if something flops on you like the av program just did here out of the blue for still an unknown but automatic updated suspected problem.

Here I still have the 2010 version of Acronis True Image Home working for me and took an image made in June to restore the 7 install when the av program could not be put back on fresh not even having any uninstall method besides a manual edit of the registry itself! The web installer then showed it as updated without any program entries or folders left when the installation was checking for updates showing how bad things got. Once the image was restored the same av program was back running normally again as always.

One reason I want to eventually get into a larger then 128gb flash drive is to be able to carry a full system image backup in my pocket! Yet once the image was restored and everything was updated to where I had been I saw two images made and being stored on two separate storage/backup drives(pair of 2tb on the desktop) which you wouldn't see there while you could still store backups externally.

I know you don't want to hear all that but you are also lacking the 7 media for either the Ultimate install that was put on as well as the factory recovery media and will likely be losing the programs you have on presently if not able to get the 7 side running to upgrade from! I've dealt with troublesome OEM primaries before and have had to nuke them in order to see which ever Windows versions put on fresh. Plus you can't even see an Upgrade to Repair since the drive is almost totally filled which is always a mishap where you ended needing to remove quite a bit just to get things running normally again when the OS is working properly.

To me if one has a counterfeit Windows 7 installed their are two choices.

    1. Do what ever it takes to make the installation legal.

    2. Contact Microsoft and beg.

I would suggest option 1 is the best choice.

Well in the latest news MS has another idea they are now going to be trying out in that regard. Microsoft Makes It Easier for Non-Genuine Users to Activate Windows 10 - Softpedia

The company will start an experiment in the United States

Following the free Windows 10 upgrade offer for genuine Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users, Microsoft has just announced an experimental program aimed at non-genuine customers who have yet to upgrade to the new version of the OS.

Microsoft's Terry Myerson confirmed that the experiment would start soon in the United States, and if successful, it would be extended to other countries.

If you're a non-genuine Windows 10 user or one that is using a previous pirated version of Windows that is eligible for a free upgrade if it were legit, then don't get your hopes too high because you won't get a free Windows 10 license.

Option 1 is the ONLY choice - unless you can prove that you bought the license in good faith, and that the counterfeit package you bought was at least superficially legitimate enough to pass a reasonably knowledgeable inspection.

Well what is interesting regarding vendors is what I am seeing about Discount Mountain Software seeing complaint. I had pointed a friend there to buy his own 7 Pro x64 OEM disk for an old case I was giving him a couple of years back and the 7 install went on without a hitch and activated as normally as the 7 Pro retail disk set I have for another desktop saw.

I would say when looking at the last two ingredients?

November 19, 2014 69 ORDER re 68 Dismissal with Prejudice on Claims by Discount Mountain Against Third Party Defendant ComputechSale, LLC: all claims between Third-party Plaintiff, Discount Mountain, Inc., and Third-party Defendant, ComputechSale, LLC., in this case are dismissed with prejudice, each party to pay his or its own costs and attorneys' fees, by Judge Richard P. Matsch on 11/19/2014. (jsmit) July 8, 2013 7 ORDER of Recusal reassigning case to another judge of this court. By Chief Judge Marcia S. Krieger on 7/8/2013. (klyon, )
To be reassigned to another judge and case dropped with prejudice against the defendent suggesting the vendor got out from the cold there when trying to fight the mighty MS machine?! At least for that particular instance while the purchase my friend made fortunately saw a genuine OEM disk. That's still an unknown and the vendor's site seems to be down at this time?

Another vendor showing XP Pro as well as 7 downloads and media available for 70% off the MSRP can be seen at Buy Computer Operating System - Windows Microsoft - Technetmicro.com

I tend to take more notice of another with far less OS to sell where you see COA in the product info since COA=Certificate Of Authenticity! NEW MICROSOFT WINDOWS 7 PROFESSIONAL 64 BIT SP1 FULL VERSION & COA PRODUCT KEY - Operating Systems

With MS insisting on vendors simply dropping all inventories for previous versions you would expect to see discounts whlie 2yrs. back it was DMS that had 7 Pro x64 OEM listed for only $70 while other places see over $100 for media and lower for downloads.
