Windows Updates

So this has bothered me for some time so I am going to do something about it.

I have set windows update to download and install updates automatically, so I expect windows update to download and install the updates automatically, as its told to do, without bothering me.

What windows update does however is that it searches for updates, then a windows update icon appears in the system tray, with a pop-up message asking me to download the updates manually, then after downloading and installing the updates another pop-up message appears in the bottom right corner, asking me to restart my computer and I have to manually click on it to avoid having my computer restarted.

I have no idea why anyone would program a system like this but it is seriously getting annoying. Is there a way to have windows download and install all the necessary updates without bothering me the slightest?

I just had another issue with windows update.

After installing some update, windows froze right before giving me acess to my desktop, with a message saying there was an error installing some updates... it was frozen for about 30 minutes.. and i couldn't get access to my computer because of it

So I had to hit F8 and perform a system restore from a restore point that I had made, it gave me yet another error saying that system restore did not complete successfully. So I thought at this point there was nothing I could do so i rebooted my computer and windows gave me access to my desktop saying that the system restore was completed successfully.. So I am back on my computer again. Jesus christ.

It seems that windows update is creating some problems for itself and it results in windows update blocking the access on my computer.

I guess the four main issues that I'm looking to solve are:

1. Get rid of the pop-up notification that appears in the bottom right corner that tells me to restart my computer manually or windows will do it in 30 minutes.

2. Make windows download the updates automatically, without asking me to download and install them manually.

3. Disable the windows update icon that appears in the system tray.

4. Prevent windows from installing updates that blocks access to my computer.

It is baffling that windows update causes so many issues so I have disabled windows update as for now, just to prevent windows update from blocking the access to my computer again.
