    Updater not working.

Brand new install of Windows 7 Pro x64. I also have Windows 7 Pro x32 bit on another HDD. The 32 OS works fine. Both are OEM. The 64 OS does not find updates after an hour. Update Fix-it shows Code 0x8024402C not fixed. Does not work with Norton turned off either. The System Update Readiness Tool does not work. SFC scan says nothing wrong. Is it possible that because my computer is already recognized by Microsoft as OEM32, that it will not recognize it as OEM64? Is this fixable or do I have to buy Windows 8 or 10 in a retail format? Cannot find Windows 7 in a retail format. Windows 10 Install got stuck in the Update section before it could finalize the installation. I still have the Windows 7 64 installed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    hi Clyde7, Welcome to SF.

0x8024402C error codes typically occur because an incorrect character exists in the proxy override settings.

    Try this.

    follow these steps:
    1. Open Internet Explorer.
    2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
    3. Click the Connections tab, click LAN Settings, and then click Advance.
    4. Delete any entry in the Exceptions section.
    Quit Internet Explorer.
    5. Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.
    6. Type the following commands. Press ENTER after each command.
    proxycfg -d
    net stop wuauserv
    net start wuauserv

    Are you dual booting??,
Not sure but if the HDD is connected at the same time its possible that MS is confused as your running 32/64 OS's.

2 OEM's on the same comp is not a standard setup.
As soon as you boot MS auto validates, (from the C drive).

    Updater now working.

Thank you everyone who tried to help me on this. Very kind indeed! Special thanks to mdemelli. The kb you referenced did the trick! I had to install Google Chrome to access the website from the fresh install though. 208 update downloads started immediately! They are all installed now, and all is well.
