Clean install Windows 7 sp1 32 bit no longer updates even manually. I tried all those tips mentioned in other windows update threads and some of unofficial tweaks, nothing worked. I don't know if 64 bit of windows 7 sp1 clean install will be the same way-I am not going try that. I am not worried about the Windows 7 32 bit not working because I have a Windows 7 64 bit installation that is working which I did a clean install about a month or two. Then only thing I haven't tried is letting windows update do it automatically and use the registry key patch that prevents it from upgrading to windows 10. I might try this method another time.

As far as I know you need SP1 for updates to work:

If you haven't got SP1 try the standalone installer 32bit x86

    Hi Groze,
    You know the score,
Post the logs lets have a look.
As a matter of interest are those 2 OS's, 32/64 on the same comp, and if so whats the boot priority order.

I was just posting this for information for other people that may want to do a clean install of windows 7 sp1 regardless of the architecture. That they might have issues getting windows update to work at all or even manually installing them.

To answer you question, no I wasn't dual booting with windows 7 sp1 64 bit & windows 7 sp1 32 bit (So, I could stay legal). I have Macrium image, so I can restore my computer really easy. I will test the autoupdate later, when I have more time to see if that works. I am back to using 64 bit for now.
