Windows 7 crashes after installing Windows updates KB3126593 and KB312

After installing Microsoft Updates for Windows KB3126593 and KBKB3126587, most of the installed programs stop working.

Including browsers, antivirus, firewall etc. Computer becomes unusable.

Trying to run these programs results in an error message:

The application was unable to start correctly (0xc00000005). Click OK to close the application.

Uninstalling the updates restores all the functionality.

Update March 9 2016

Update kb3140410 also causes similar damage to Windows installation

Following damage to the computer installation occurred:
Disappeared from tray:
Antivirus (Baidu)
Firewall (Private Firewall)
Internet Explorer stopped working - blank white window.
MS Excel stopped working
Error :
The Application was unable to start correctly (0sc0000005)
MS Publisher stopped working
Error :
The Application was unable to start correctly (0sc0000005)

Uninstalling the update return windows to normal

Interestingly, Firefox still worked.

Verified installing
KB3126587
KB3126593
Problem returns and disappears upon uninstalling.
Every time.

Update May 2 2016

KB3146706 crashed Fujitsu Lifebook T4310
Removing the update restored functionality.

KB3126593 crashed Dell Optiplex 390
Removing the update restored functionality.

Windows Updates crashes
Every time I get an update that requires rebooting the reboot crashes and reboots again bringing me to launch start up repair. Startup repair crashes before it fully starts reboot the machine again. Then I select normal boot and sometimes it comes out of it and boots up. I'm getting sick of this.
