Jack, That site is actually the UK version of the webpage, as dukerod is from the UK - there is a US report page here ... https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/howt...fr/report.aspx

Perhaps a contact with Microsoft from yourself to make them aware of this site may even get you a Windows 10 key although that is completely in Microsoft's hands

Well I will report to Microsoft and see if they have any experience of this company Thanks to all out there. I have learnt alot.

I have had contact from the Windows 7 supplier and it seems it may be me that could be at fault I have downloaded the wrong version of windows & and the key doesn't match the O/S .

The laptop is still with the repairer and I have passed the info on and asked him to see if he can activate with the correct program.

It seems I downloaded basic windows 7 instead of Home Pemium. allegedly we shall see.

I dont think so

If thats the code they gave you then it Falls into the Home premium catagory, which is what you downloaded.

Hello everyone .

Here is the final outcome:

The company Softwaregeeks has supplied me with a code that does not work with anything.

I have attempted to get a refund as described on their site but the emails have now gone quiet so it looks like I will have to sing for my supper on that one.

They have been reported to Microsoft.

My repairer has sorted the laptop and it is now running windows 10 so I am happy with that .

I have not got it back yet but will have it soon.

I would like to thank all the contributors to this thread and pass on Kudos to you all.

I am a member of the Win10 forum as well as this one so my name may pop up all over the place .

Once again thanks and happy computing.

tell em

Hi Dukerod,

Tell them youve reported them to Trading Standards.
And if you paid by Credit card, not Debit, try them for a refund
Or if it was Paypal try them.
