I believe windows restore points are not very reliable and only leave the os in a confused state.
They really are unreliable in completely undoing windows updates.

They seem to always leave fragments of programs which were uninstalled at one point
I clean what ever windows restore points exist before doing a system image.

    More help please
After a bit more reading here I have found that I have KB3031917 and KB2952664 installed.
Also looking in the win32 folder I found 2 GWX and also found it by following regedit/hkey-local/windows --ect
    What do I do now
Do I right click delete the gwx folder in regedit and also uninstall the two KB's
Will doing that also remove it from the win32 folder
Should I create an image first, or is it safe to just get rid

    Thank you for your reply
I already ran the option that was in your first link --- this one below, which then found the two KB's Ive still got

    1. Type powershell an
    2. ap on the Windows-key, type cmd and hit enter.
    3. d hit enter.
    4. Use the command get-hotfix -id

Also I have already done your second link via the Option 2 method -- this route, Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Windows Update (as the picture below )but must of done it whilst the two kbs were not ret removed

So to now remove the two KBs that I have do I just go to installed updates and uninstall or do I go --
Use the command wusa /uninstall /kb:2952664 to uninstall a patch.

Im thinking that Controll panel/view installed updates and then right click remove sounds easier to me but is that the same thing as using the command line thing, and by installing those 2 kbs will that remove the gwx folders I found or will I have to remove those separately.

Told you I was confused !

I'd use the elevated power shell.

Is there a reason to use that other than right click - delete. The powershell thing looks scary
