Confused about avoiding any win 10 updates

I am new to win7 but one thing I know for sure is that I don't want 10.
I have been reading and reading and have removed the icon the gwx folder has gone and so far so good
But I have 30 updates to do and another 16 optional. I have sheets of paper in-front of me dangerous - safe - from here and links I have followed from here, I am starting to get paranoid and confused.
Is it safe to say that it is safe to just install any update that is called a security update and at least that way I don't have so many left to double check what they are.
I have updates set to let me know but don't install
And should I even bother with the malicious software removal tool as I have Norton installed

Hi,
So far all Important windows updates are okay to download and install
Assuming your windows update settings are like these are set
I personally don't pay much attention to the Optional section anymore because that is where all of the 10 ones are going to be
I do still review them but rarely download and install them anymore,

Hi,
Yea there's something wrong with that person
The ie11 update has nothing to do with win-10
It's just a common misunderstanding of what update settings are and set too to avoid win-10 so far

Even the ie11 update will be in the Optional section
I personally don't use internet explorer anymore I do not like ie11 but it is installed without any win-10 around.

My kb3134814 is in the important section called Cumulative security update explorer 11 and is 84mb
Also is it best practice to first create a restore point before installing any updates.
Also I have just found the tutorial to turn off windows upgrades hereUpgrade to Windows 10 Update - Enable or Disable in Windows 7 or 8.1 - Windows 10 Forums
But then read some kb's reset it to default, aahhh
I loved xp when they stopped supporting (breaking) it

I don't use I.E. but because it's on my systems I keep it updated.
As far as I know I.E. has nothing to do with W-10.

That update I show installed on 2-13 I believe it was released on the 9th or so

It should be fine

I would yes create a system image before loading all of the Important updates just incase but as you can see I also give it a few days before downloading and installing them too just so if there are any recalls or reported issues made here

Ok thanks----Now then I am reading all about how to delete restore points and I am so scared of bugging up my new pc I am creating a restore point for almost everything I do . So just had a look at my restore points and it looks like windows is automatically creating one before I install updates, the one at the top of the list is not one that I created but that is when I installed a bunch 10 of office 2010 ones. Confused ---- again !

Hi,
You should be using a real system imaging program

I do. I use Acronis true image for full backups, but I thought that restore just backed up the system files and so was a lot smaller - its certainly a lot quicker than an Acronis image.
I have about 23 of them and its only 10gb where a full Acronis is something like 30gb for one.
Or are the windows restore points vastly compressed

Avoiding the Windows 10 Update Bully with Windows 7 Updates
It is my understanding that one can avoid getting harassed by the Windows 10 update bully is one simply refuses to allow some Windows 7 updates to install. Is this notion correct? My notes indicate that one should NOT install the KB2952664 and KM3035583 Windows 7 updates to avoid the Windows 10...

I'm confused about .NET updates
There were 2 issued in Feb. updates for .NET 4 but there had been a .NET 4.5.1 a few months ago. Why was there a higher number issued before the more current ones or isn't 4.5.1 an upgrade to 4? I don't even know what they mean or if I really need them but did check my list of installed updates...
