All Updates D/L & Install Success! However ...

... cliking 'Restart' and system configures updates, shuts down, starts back up, starts to apply updates to 100% and then I get "Failure Configuring Windows Update reverting ...". Eventually the machine comes to life. I go to view the update history and all are listed as 'Failed'. I am cluesless, this has NEVER happened to me before.

I don't know a lot about Windows 7 updates but I do have a question.
How much free space do you have on partition "C"?

Hi MourningStar, I'll see if I can help you.
Please download & run SURT, may take a while to complete, post CheckSUR.log located at: C:\Windows\Logs\CBS
    Please post windowsupdate.log located at : C:\WIndows
    That's a good start!

I cliked on one of the control panel's 'help with update problems' link and a help window opened and there were several suggestions. I opted for the recommendation to update a few at a time. So far this is working for me. Will continue on this path until all updates are done (cross-fingers).

well, all of the updates installed with no problems. never had to do it this way before, oh well - must be what happens to an OS on it's way out to pasture.
