Get Media Ctr back to W7 after upgrade to W10 erases it?

I am about to download the free upgrade ( to a separate partition) and want to keep both OS.

I stopped the download because it said it would erase Media Ctr and I want to know if I can reinstall it to W7 after the W10 upgrade.

    Thanks,

    Paul

It only removes it if it replaces windows 7, that is the upgrade terms.

If you are trying to keep windows 7 and still have the upgrade, that is not part of the deal and against the EULA.

If you just want to keep it separate so you can roll back to 7 easier, you don't have to worry about the media center, it's not going to go find a separate install of 7 just to remove it.

So if I want both 7 and 10, I will have to pay for 10?

Yeah, it's only free if you upgrade an existing 7 or 8/8.1 install.

    Thanks.

Doesn't seem fair, but I guess Bill needs the money.

It's quite easy to install Media Centre on Windows 10. See screenshot of one of my machines -

Are you referring to 1st post (ricktendo64)?

If so, do I copy and paste the code ( from
    abbodi1406)

    in Command Prompt?

    Thanks for reply.
I downloaded the files and extracted with Winzip, but every time I try to run it it brings me back to home page of Winzip.

I guess I'm clicking the wrong file?

    Thanks for any help.

IIRC I had to unpack the files with 7z. I was under the impression that Winzip, Winrar and 7z all unpacked all files in the same fashion - but 7zip seemed to work correctly with this particular archive.
