Windows updates

    Windows updates


    I am a home user. I have windows 7 32bit laptop.

    My question is do i need those updates:

    kb2984972 - update for remote desktop connection (i don't use remote desktop)

    kb29777292 - eap implementation that enables use of tls (requires manually registry modyfing)

    kb2862152 - vulnerability in IPsec

    kb2862973 - depreciation of md5 hashing algorithm for ms root certificate

    kb3097966 - disclosed digital certificates

    kb3123479 - sha1 hashing algorithm for ms root certificate

    All bar maybe kb29777292, unless you have Cisco EAP/LEAP in your programes lsting.

    Any Optional section updates can be ignored,

    You need your settings just as Mike has shown, but I would also check the bottom one.

    Remember to always read the description of an update 1st, if you don`t need it, just right click and hide it.

    Load them Windows gets cranky if you hide a Important update :)

    Thank you for the tips and all. I installed them and everything is ok for now.

    Actually I always read the description but not always understand it right:)
