I had a little tough time trying to grasp at times and had to repost to confirm...

    Apologise if was a pain...

    Thanks again and best regards.

PS: might bother you occasionally if I land in hot waters, hope that would be fine with you?

No problem, if i can help i will.
You're not a pain, it's good you question things and confirm before making a mistake.
    That's how we all learn.
If i can't help you, i'll tell you, and hopefully get some expert or advice that can help you.

Now you are being a bit too modest and I don't think I need a more complicated W7 install that may confuse me more at this age.

DavidE, I happened to treat 2 IT geniuses no more in this world now, since they approached a bit too late . (One from your State.)

During there therapy sessions, used to discuss Windows with them, and they used to be amazed a doc and a old one interested so much.

Well that said, now am into fine tuning my laptop, hoping this install would last a few months and have learnt quite a bit from you experts.

    Thanks again.

Whenever you have a stable system create a system image backup (periodically).
It's a whole lot easier to restore a backup image than to re-install and start from scratch if you run into problems.
I use Macrium Reflect free, and it works reliably for me.

    Hi ThrashZone,

    1. Care to clarify your post, about optional updates?

    2. How often do you run TFC?

Hoping to hear from you, as always!

    Thanks.

    Hi,
If you've finally got all the Important updates installed move on to the Optional section and install them
All the win-10 related ones to skip are these
    KB2952664
    KB2999226
    KB3035583
    KB3075249
    KB3013531
    KB3021917
    KB3068708
    KB3080149
    KB3123862
    KB3150513
And these are the ones I have not installed for various reasons some are remote desktop and other undecided updates I have just chosen to not install
    Attachment 387279
    Hi,
These were just ones I have not installed if a couple don't show up now possibly they will later :)

As far as the rest of the optional/ recommended updates excluding the above as far as installing them ?
I installed them is all I can say :)

    Thanks for replying, appreciate it.

But I won't install any recommended/ optional till is really needed.

My W7 install is trouble free, so why create unnecessary issues.

Need to create a final image, 3rd after Off.

How often do you run TFC?
