How do you know about "SHA and MD5 checksum nos"
Hell I don't even know what the heck those are
    I use this,

    HashCheck Shell Extension

And it generates it right in the properties window,

Then check this site for the numbers,

    https://msdn.microsoft.com/subscript...loads/hh442898

    Failing to update?-2016-04-29_23h23_45.png

    And see if they match,

You can see the SHA matches so the download wasn't corrupted.

    Hi,

    1. Successfully burnt 2 media (just in case) using ImgBurn and checked they both work fine.

    2. Tried creating a USB flash drive using Rufus, it was fine but when tried to boot using it gave an error " unable to read data", probably because choose 16 kb cluster size......was my 1st time doing it?

    3. Have the 2 updates on another USB drive as recommended.

    4. Now plan clean installing W7 with SP1, shall keep you posted how it goes.

    5. As to 7 zip, in the new version how do I get to options to link associated files......like .iso etc?

    6. Received an email from MS class 2 support tech, wanted to do another remote session to which didnt reply back.

    Thanks again,

    Best regards!

    Hi,

Its going on fine after a clean install and as recommended.

    Have a few questions:

    1. Should I install all 162 Windows important updates and than install MS Office and its updates?

    2. Is indexing essential or can it be unchecked?

    Thanks.

    162 ?
    Well yea :)
I'd try all of them and see if it works it has for me in the past
It may error out as some may not install if this one is install with any other updates it actually needed to be installed all by it's self on one install KB3020369

Hi, yes 162 approx 554 MB in size.

You imply not to install KB 3020369?

    Regarding indexing your thoughts?

    Thanks again.

    Hi
Don't worry about indexing or settings yet :)
Don't use the computer while updating.

The update "might" need to be excluded install all of the updates to begin with.
