    Stop the 'Check for ...


    Updates'! I do Check For Updates, taking too long and do not know how to stop it. Closing the window not work because when I go back (control panel>windows update) it is still checking!!!! How to stop?

    Stopping and starting the Windows Update service should do the trick.

    Services - Start or Disable
