Windows Updates won't install, Error Code: 80070005

I am having an issue installing Windows Updates (WU) all have Error Code: 80070005.

Nine updates installed after several tries, but there are about 50 updates waiting to be downloaded and installed.

I ran the SURT, but it kept spinning...all day, so I canceled it. Tried running it again, but it wouldn't let me run it again.

I ran the SFC Scan and have the SFC detail log attached. Appears a lot of files were repaired and some could not be repaired. The files that couldn't be repaired are mostly sample MS music, pictures, etc. Stuff I am not interested in.

Maybe one of my cleaners deleted same as a useless/unused file or maybe a virus corrupted some files? I didn't see anything in the SFC detail log pertaining to WU?

The CBS compressed zip log is 13.6MB, which is over the 8MB upload limit, so couldn't upload it?

On June 23, 2016, MSSE picked up a Rogue: JS/FakeCall.D labeled (Severe). It was quarantined by MSSE, I deleted it.

Malwarebytes this past week picked up and quarantined a few rootkits labeled as severe or a threat. I deleted those. Not sure if these items affected WU or not?

Would the Windows Update - Reset tutorial would work to fix my WU issue here? Seems like a uncomplicated fix?

Thats not good reading.
Most system security experts would advise a complete RE-install of any OS compromised by a Rootkit, but you, from your own admission, have had few.
Iam NOT a security expert but in this case I WOULD, if you can identify them, look them up at BleepingComputers they have an excellent catalogue of Rootkits and there impact/removal.
Just removing them does NOT allways guarentee a clean system.

Having said that SFC has done a pretty good job of repairing some of whats been infected/changed, but it is advised to run it 3x.
From what i can see there are certainly still some errors, in Windows media player, and there are likely to be others
SURT can take >>hours<< to run especially on a previously infected system, as it also makes repairs as it goes along

You can run the troublshooter, if you want.

Update: Things I've done since posting my OT.

6/24/16, Malwarebytes log, describes the following threats: 1. Rogue.Multiple 2. Rootkit. Fileless MT Gen 3. Trojan.
Fileless.MTGen

6/28/16, Tuesday. Ran the Windows Update - Tutorial Reset_Windows_Update_History.bat file, got a note: “Failed to reset WU
History due to wuauserv failing to stop”. Then ran the other two remaining WU tutorial options.

6/28/16, Tuesday. Saw a WU yellow exclamation point while shutting down at the end of the day. Message said: New updates
ready for installation, restart to install same. Restarted and let it run on its own, then it shut down on its own while I
slept.

6/29/16, Wednesday. On restart 44 WU’s installed successfully, 7 failed to install.

8:27pm, WU wants me too restart my computer to check for updates? Restarted, tried downloading 2 optional updates, let it
run until 9:13pm. Kept spinning and failed to download the WU's, so I canceled the update?

9:30pm, Manually reset Windows Update components via a MS "How do I reset Windows Update components?" Ran a series of
command prompts, then restarted. Then tried downloading and installing the two remaining WU optional updates
starting at 10:12pm.

10:29pm, Stopped the two WU’s as it kept spinning and not downloading. As WU's has been doing since before I started
this thread.

The two remaining updates that failed to install are: For Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB3161608) and (KB3102429).

So for now it appears the WU issue is 98% resolved, but the WU process continues to spin w/o downloading anything.

I would also recommend that the owner of the PC change all passwords from a known clean computer to all web sites including all banking and Credit Card companies they use.

b) I don't know what you mean: From a known clean computer?
c) Change my account password on all websites, including banking and credit/debit card
companies?
d) Why do you say this? I haven't noticed any discrepancies in my banking/debit/or other online
accounts.

Also inform the banking and C.C. companies that your password were compromised.

I compromised my own banking pin password recently, as I entered my pin number incorrectly a few times and had to reset it recently, so?

Do you think one of the rootkits that infected my system may have got my password to my computer or banking or other online account passwords?

Know anything about keyloggers? How they infiltrate or gain access to a persons computer and basically open and view any files they want? How close to your computer do they have to be to do this? Do they use some sort of device to accomplish this?
