Windows 7 update service high cpu usage

Im having a problen with my windows update service using cpu resources.

When i start my pc up my cpu usage stays at 16% usagage & when i go into task manager under processors it shows svchost as consuming most cpu. I tight click on it and go to services and when i stop the windows update service cpu usage drops back to 1%.

I had this problem a few months back and following some google research i clear the event logs for system etc, and also deleted the software distribution folder from c drive under windows and let it rebuild a new one.

Ive tried all that this time but it hasnt worked.

Is there anyone that could help me out.

Im running Windows 7 Pro 64 SP1

Thanks
