Hi Barry,

Can you confirm a few details

When did you install W7, that comp originally came with Vista.

Where did you get the licence, its showing a volume MAK key issued to business's/educational establishments, once the number of paid for licences activations is reached, further installs are not updated.

The only way forward from here is to speak to your companies/college IT department, who will either buy more licences or transfer you to another key.

Hi torchW ,

i the bought this computer from my old employer when i left , which also gave me the the license key so i could upgrade to win7 . this is like a year ago and now i did a clean install a couple of days ago
I activated the license by telephone and this worked fine .

Hi Barry,
Fair enough, but my comment about Max licences still applies.
Re-installing the OS, was the trigger.
Leave it overnight, see what happens.
If it still doesn't update can you copy/paste the details from the WindowsUpdate log.
(only 1 days worth)

Hi Barry,
Thats looking good now.
WU was having trouble with WMI, it installed a hotfix on 5th, then updated your AMD chipset driver, Then the other 165 followed.
note suggest you check the rest of your drivers, using the HP website for your model.
