Disk cleanup safe to remove updates ?

Disk cleanup says it can remove 13.5GB of windows updates.
Seems an awful lot - is this normal (not done before).
I do not have the Win 10 update files.
Is it safe to remove all thes updates?

    Hello Rufford, :)

Yes, it's safe to delete them if you like. It only allows you to remove outdated Windows Updates.

I use Disk Cleanup all the time without any problems.

Brink has another tutorial that can make things a little easier.

Just a note to keep in mind. Disc clean up, does not actually remove the old updates until you shut down or reboot the computer.

...and this can take hours on some computers :-(

The OP might want to set the computer not to sleep and let it work on the reboot process overnight.

    Hi,
    I really don't believe it's worth using,
Some updates will return that were removed.

Someone uses it all the time.

Someone else says not worth it.

    Confused? I will be !

I use it fairly regularly & have never had any problems. I always leave it a few days after & large Windows Update install to make sure all is well & then I run it.
