Looks like they added a Known issue to the link
Quote:
Known issues in this update

  • Issue 1

    Symptom
After you install KB 3133977, the software for Intel Bluetooth devices may not be fully functional because of existing software issues in the Intel Bluetooth driver software. These issues may affect Bluetooth keyboards, mice, audio streaming devices, and voice headsets. You may also not be able to pair new Bluetooth devices. Intel is currently working on an update to address their software incompatibilities.

    Workaround
If you require Intel Bluetooth support on Windows 7 before the revised software is available, the only known workaround at this time is to uninstall this update temporarily and then reinstall it after Intel has updated their software.

To be fair here's Intel's thoughts....

Quote:
We have confirmed that KB3161608 causes problems with Bluetooth* and currently, the only workaround available is to remove the update. At this time, we do not have a way to have KB3161608 installed and Bluetooth* working at the same time.

This situation has been reported to the appropriate resources and we expect it to be resolved in the near future. Please keep in mind that Windows* updates are a Microsoft* feature and Intel does not have inherence on these contents, so we cannot provide a specific time for resolution.

Source: Microsoft yanks buggy speed-up patch KB 3161608, replaces it with KB 3172605 and 3172614
According to the source link, it sounds like microsoft and intel are in a pissing contest.

2614 is 8.1's update and 2605 is 7's; It's saying 1608 is a one time update for June and July's updates won't go as smoothly as June's that's why you need to install 2605, but I didn't have trouble with slow July updates.

My conclusion? I'm going to wait until August rolls around.

Intel has recently released updated bluetooth drivers & software that is now compatible with Microsoft's KB3161608 and KB3172605 update rollups for Windows 7 SP1.

Details at these Intel sites:

https://communities.intel.com/thread/104851

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26191

For those using Intel bluetooth devices, download & install these updated drivers and re-install either the KB3161608 or KB3172605 update for Win7 SP1.

I have a hard time believing that there are only 29,941KB of non-security updates since SP1 was released... Have we just been installing different versions of similar updates over and over the years? By comparison the convenience pack, which also has similar requirements for installation comes in at 488,327KB for security and non-security updates.

What is the verdict on MSKB3161608 - June 2016 update rollup for Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1? I see that MSKB3161608 includes quite a few patches, including MSKB3161647 - Windows Update Client for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2: June 2016. In the past, I think some people...
