    Cant reinstall net framework 4


    Hi,
    Going crazy trying to reinstall net 4 on win 7 64bit pc.
    I uninstalled because it was not updating to newer version during updates and uninstalled as a last resort.
    My log file is attached.
    Any help appreciated greatly

    I'm no expert but I did find one. Microsoft.

    From you posted log.
    Final Result: Installation failed with error code: (0x80070643), "Fatal error during installation. " (Elapsed time: 0 00:02:59).

    The more important line

    Returning IDOK. INSTALLMESSAGE_ERROR [A later version of Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile is already installed.]

    Suggest you run the repair tool from here

    i have tried those tools without success. I have now done a restore from a ghost backup and at least I can now see 4.6.1 net in add remove whereas before it was not even showing, even before i used the removal tool. waiting for win update to do its thing and we may be getting somewhere.

    no important updates!
