Windows Update and Network Troubleshooter not working

Hi folks I have been pulling my hair out trying various options found on the net to get my Windows Update and Network Trouble shooter working. It either just hangs up trying to start or it comes up and says service not turned on. I have checked and the service is in fact turned on. Only change I made recently was an upgrade from a 300 gb hard drive to a 1 TB hard drive. I cloned my old drive and made a partition same size as the old drive then had the rest of the drive partioned off as a separate drive letter which seems to work fine except for the problem with windows update and network troubleshooter not working. I have an ASus Laptop with pentium dual core processor and 3 gb of ram windows 7 home premium 64 bit using Google Chrome browser. Does anyone have a sure fire cure for this problem. Thanks Much

I apologize if I posted this in wrong area I am lousy at forums and because of that I usually stay away from them but this problem needs to be addressed. It would appear that I either posted in wrong place or nobody has found a cure for this problem. getting ready to trash the new hard drive and go back to my old one

    Welcome to 7-forum.

As you did not include the model in your spec.

In some laptop, there is an limit on the HDD storage.

My TOSHIBA Satellite Pro L630 can only have the HDD up to 750GB.
I had did a google search on my laptop spec, as it have stated in most website on the limit of HDD 750GB max.

There are 2 options to try.

    1. Maybe you could swap back to the original HDD to check if that issue will pop-up or not.

    2. Do google search on your laptop full spec to check on the limit on the HDD of your laptop .

    Edit/Added:
Even if you resize to the original HDD size, it may not help, as it may also depend on the BIOS &or MB.

    Hi BigbobH,
Good old intel, you have a bad set of of thier drivers, can you install the the 4th set, at the bottom labelled Iata enu, from this link
    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Det...?DwnldID=22194

    reboot

Rerun the tool ALL of the mismatch's and tampered file messages should be gone.
And you'll be good to go

    Hi BigbobH,
    Looking further into that report,
I have to advise you that it is also showing as a non genuine instal.
At some stage you appear to have used non Asus re-install media.
    (Build lab: 7601.win7sp1_ldr.160408-2045)
You are using an EOM sticker product key, and NO slic table is present, it should look somewhat like this
    BIOS Information:
ACPI Table Name OEMID Value OEMTableID Value
    APIC _ASUS_ Notebook
    FACP _ASUS_ Notebook
    DBGP _ASUS_ Notebook
    HPET _ASUS_ Notebook
    MCFG _ASUS_ Notebook
    ECDT _ASUS_ Notebook
    SLIC _ASUS_ Notebook

This may be due to the fact you have cloned only the OS as well
Check the homepage for your model and update the Bios, that may correct the Slic table.

    NB
I do know that model was shipped with W7.
