    Hi Callendar,
My comment was made on the basis of Nicks requirement, ie the bulk standard Joe (Josophine) who has updates on auto.

The latest agent will always auto update its part of the update procedure, and is checked every time

    Hi
If that were true nobody would have an issue :)

They need to stop sending the offending update client which is obviously broken

I just un-hid and downloaded/installed KB3172605 on one of my systems. Rebooted.
Checked updates again and none were found.
I will just wait and see what kind of mess doing this might cause.

    Hi,
KB3172605 was reissued Tuesday so if it breaks anything we won't know until next patch Tuesday :)

Thanks. I've just noticed that one. I have actually been referring to the one released in July 2016. Will install the current patch anyway. Next month's updates should be interesting with the move to the "single security update" with all security patches rolled up into one update.

Having got this in some sort of order and working we now have around 300 updates to install
are there any that are bad ? if so lets make a list so that these can be withdrawn ? i have my next session with microsoft on monday so if we can put some sort of closure to this that would be great :)

It was Post #22 in this thread. No problem as anyone trying to download that update will get the latest version.
