those corrections made by chkdsk will/should reduce your BSOD problems.

suggest you also run
sfc /scannow (3x)

and another chkdsk DONT like the last line

Was just reading up about sfc as it happens.

Still doing updates! Lots of them. It is still showing as activated.

Just ran findstr command to extract info out of CBS Log which is 17Mb but sfcdetails.txt is empty. Finds to command is supposed to work with CBS.log

I'll tell you what Roy. I've never known installation to be so problematic. No fun anymore.

I know very little about PC's compared to someone like you but the MFT line is worrying

please run KB971033, it will clear the missmatches and the register Activex and the admin service.

Roy
I did KB971033 but it doesn't appear in revision history. Also, seem to be getting a lot of failed updates. I just keep checking and updating until no more.

Just ran sfc and it finishes in a split second and verification doesn't move from 0%. Very strange. It comes up with windows resources protection did not find any integrity violations. Ran it in safe mode too. Same result.

Time for bed. Fingers crossed the computer is still on in the morning.

States check winsxs folder form pending deletes etc. I did a dir /p in cmd prompt. There were 12802 directories in there all bearing similar names to the chkdsk corrections which I believe were the 3 rolled up Windows Updates you recommended I first install. I downloaded them direct from Windows Update Catalog.

Random reboot, windows 7 64 bit, SF Diagnostics report posted
Hi everyone, In the last week or so my PC randomly rebooted for no reason. I let it run to safe mode, rebooted again and all is fine. Not sure what it could be so I ran the diagnostics and I'm providing the results below. Thank you in advance, P.S. I don't run an antivirus but I do...

General windows issue. Hard to explain in title, see in thread.
Hey all. Sorry for the rather unspecific title, however I'm having issues that can't really be described in a few words, without causing confusion. A while back I installed a theme called "Dark Agility", I'm sure a few of you may be familiar with it, as I got it from around here (I'm pretty...

General Anime Discussion Thread
Another one of my more "laid-back" threads. Basically all I'm asking is whether you watch (or have watched) anime, and if so what have you seen, or if applicable, what are you watching now? Feel free to discuss to any length as well, we're already geeky enough around here, what's one more addition...
