I just tried manually installing Windows6.1-KB2834140-v2-x86.msu and got this message: The update is not applicable to your computer.
I see 6.2.9200.16570 on an image before the repair install.

    Hi Riley,
    can you go to
    c > windows > system32 > d3d11.dll

it should look the same as mine see screenshot
(can you also click on the security tab > trusted installer > all but special permissions should be ticked

IF the file details DO NOT show the same as mine

    from an command prompt

    wusa /uninstall /kb:2834140

    reboot

    re-install the update
    Access Denied

Dont know what that access denied message is about just clicked on link took me to the KB ???

    reboot

    try ie11 again

I just gave it a try. The uninstall appeared to go ok, but after reboot it was still there. I reran the command and it said no such file was found.
Windows update then offered IE 11 and KB2834140, which I think is the updated version of file I removed. I let it install both. The KB installed and IE failed. Screenshot is the current d3d11.dll.

I will try to Paste the WU.log on the next post. If too many letters, will attach it.

The trusted installer has all permissions allowed for d3d11.dll, except special.

Just ran wusa /uninstall /kb:2834140 again. Rebooted and this time tried to install the manually downloaded file Windows6.1-KB2834140-v2-x86.msu.

The installer popup read " the update is not applicable to your computer".

Also found a different IE 11 installer it seems, EIE11_EN-US_WOL_WIN7.EXE. Unable to find out any info on it. File size is 30.7 MB, vs. Windows6.1-x64-en-us.exe at 53.3 MB.

    Hi Riley,
still falling over in the same place.
Can you post the details of your graphics card, it might be as your system is quite old that the newer D3.dll is incompatible.(latest Asus driver 301.42 june 2012 if still 9600gt)
also the Bios upgrades check to see what changes Would have been made if you updated.

please update your ethernet driver, and are there any others showing problems.
