    Hi,

Appreciate your expert reply. Had some doubts wanted to confirm, cause as I recall the order was either

    1. KB3020369 followed by

    2. KB3125574 the 316 MB one.

Or manual install of these 3 before activation.

    1. KB3020369

    2. KB3172605

    3. KB3125574

So thanks again for the confirmation installing it in the first doesn't make any difference.

Another reason to ask was the ambiguity in the sizes of W10 updates.

This is the restored backup of W7 with Off 2007 and all updates, without AV, that could be one reason that MSE showing.....

I have never used MSE, before I met you was using Avast Free, but than switched to Panda Free AV.

One issue I face with Panda AV is that if I restore a backup, get a yellow icon in action center, displaying turn on Panda AV, despite it's up to date.

On opening it displays snoozing....yellow exclamation disappears but reappears on reboot...strange.

Thanks again and apologize to have bothered! :)

    Hi,
I didn't install or add the Panda firewall feature
    Windows firewall is fine

Nor did I install Panda safe search or toolbar I forget what the options were but there were 3 items to uncheck during the install before clicking on next since the download is from CNet it does add crapware just like free Avast installer does

Hi, thanks for confirming the correct order of manual install of the 3 updates and pointing the Panda AV, not needed features.

Would install Panda this way, after restoring the backup without utility/ 3rd party software.

Thanks again, for replying with your depth of knowledge!

Out of curiosity, what app do you use for screen shot pointers...

    Hi,
Not sure what you mean about "screen shot pointers"

I use windows paint and it's tools or brushes square box and straight line mostly
There are always keyboard shortcut key combinations to copy an entire screen
Mine is Shift+PrtScrn keys on my desktop
On my laptop it has FN key so I use FN+PrtScrn keys

Then simply open Paint and use it's Paste button and the screen shot appears
Then do whatever I want to with it and blue file button on the top left and save as....

Thanks for explaining in depth. :)

    Edit:

Can't find a link that gives options to exclude Panda AV firewall, safe search and tool bar...

Might have to go back to Avast free..

    Hi,
The choices to exclude the three items are during the install one just needs to read and uncheck before clicking next or install
Sort of near the end of the install process
I don't believe Avast is any different except it adds even more crapware like Avast browser and a host of other stuff :)

Oh the square and straight line in paint are shapes not brushes

    Hi,

I tried, Panda gives no such options, but during custom install of Avast Free, one can uncheck all the crap.

Should I stick with Panda or switch to Avast free?

Thanks for explaining about how you get squares and straight lines.
