Yes. The main scan is still ongoing but the rootkit scan didn't take long, it does that first before the main disc scan.

EDIT: By the way, is it easy to uninstall MWB after the scan has finished?

Hi Crudulous,
that error code usually points to a server connection problem, and the part of the MGA missing, is where the error indicator appears.
are you running via a proxy?

When you ran that update (the helper aka SURT), it would have produced a log and sent it to the CBS folder, can you post it.
note it will probobly need to be uploaded as a zip.
It might be easier to run this tool and copy/paste the output

Wouldn't mind seeing a days worth of the windowsUpdate log as well.

Thanks for the assist Roy, will run that once the MWB scan has finished.
EDIT: Just seen you question, no not running a proxy. I have a VPN set up but it's not normally turned on.
