    Hi Tesnus,

That's correct. I would stick to the 2 updates I posted. Even some of the earlier update clients which used to work, don't seem to work any longer.

The only ones I've had 100% success with are the 2 posted.

I'm not sure why you're unable to download the servicing stack update though as I've just tried and it works fine.

Grab the files from ThrashZone's OneDrive and let us know how you get on.

    To thrashzone

I just received a email as follows indicating you as the source:

    Hi,
I have all three needed updates on my Onedrive
    https://1drv.ms/f/s!AsjD7o6P3KLKj2TjShn8-SumV1rr

I went to the link and it gives me "This item might not exist or is no longer available". I have never used Onedrive before so I am not sure where to go from here.

Thank you for for attention and offer. Please advise further.

    To ThrashZone and brds7t7

I just clicked the link from with the forum page and see a set of zip files. I have downloaded WinRAR zip-files and extracted the following:

    AMD64-all-windows6.1-kb3020369-x64_5393066469758e619f21731fc31ff2d109595445.msu
    AMD64-all-windows6.1-kb3172605-x64_26f4cc7831a0d76393445b7b0a1a3ed5cd5b4047.msu
    AMD64-all-windows6.1-kb3125574-v4-x64_2dafb1d203c8964239af3048b5dd4b1264cd93b9.msu

The 1st two correspond to the download originally indicated in brds7t7 post; what is 'kb3125574'? Do I install the third update [...574] also?

Next, I have the file Windows6.1-KB3172605-x64.msu downloaded earlier from Microsoft. From the file size (29,941 KB) I am assuming that that these are identical files despite different names.

Finally, the "AMD64" in the file name? Does this refer to the CPU? Mine is an Intel i7.

I assume that I install these updates by executing (as *.msu) from the start menu.

    Please advise. Thankyou very much,

    tesnus

    Hi,
The other kb is really for clean installs it is the unofficial sp2 I have it there too :)

    The other one kb3172605
I would use the one I posted on my Onedrive it is the original not the newer one reissued this month.

KB3125574 is the April convenience rollup, think of it as an unofficial Service Pack 2.

I personally don't install it as I like to pick and choose what updates I install, but it's entirely up to you.

    Hi,
With all the updates I show there are 350 updates
Trying to load that many updates many are likely to fail to install
    kb3125574 makes it easier

But the order is a tad different
    1st kb3020369-x64
    2nd kb3125574-x64
    3rd kb3172605-x64
    windows update

    Thanks all

I am proceeding in this order (all three)
    1st: kb3020369-x64
    2nd: kb3125574-x64
    3rd: kb3172605-x64
Let me know soon if this is wrong. I will advise on the outcome.

    Thanks a million,

    Just checked my updates.
    I do have KB3020369 installed in Aug.2016
I do not have KB3172605, nor do I have the update that it replaces. This update IS in my list of "Optional Updates" that I have not installed.
KB3161608 was replaced with KB3172605 due to some issues with updating services.
If you read the articles at MS (In the knowledge base for the links given by Brds7t7), you'll find these and other updates that relate to problems in the update process.
Full installation instructions on MS site.

NOTE: I only have KB3020369 installed, none of the others listed here or at MS. My updates work fine. It is set to only notify me when an update is available. I choose what to install. I have one waiting for me to look at as I type.
