    Can't install SP1 for Win7 (Windows Update 0x80073712)

    Greetings :)

For few days I'm fighting and trying to install SP1 but it fails every time. I did all other updates without problems. Tried many tips and fix ideas on internet, SURT, SFC Scan, Diagnostic, some things in control panel to help with Windows Update.. completely nothing helps.

It gives me 0x80073712 error code and CheckSUR file says:

    Unavailable repair files:
    winsxs\manifests\x86_microsoft-windows-s..ologies-webcontrols_31bf3856ad364e35_7.1.7600.16395_none_39bc056e339474f4.manifest

I have no idea what else I can do. I'll be very grateful for help, hope you will know what to do. Thanks in advance :)

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
You might just clean install with media with sp1 already on it :)
If you have a machine with net framework 4.6.1 you can use this
Microsoft Windows and Office ISO Download Tool

If you need media just say which exact version and language and we can offer a direct iso download link for you

Then just follow this afterwards to update the new media
    windows update

    Hey, thanks for reply :)
So you mean system format is neccesary ;/? How about Repair Install or.. I read someone else thread on this forum and he recieved zip archive with those manifest files he had to paste into Temp folder or something like that and after he was able to install SP1 without error. Isn't it a way in my case? If not then I can try reinstall but I have only my old disc with clear Win7 without SP1. Unfortunatelly I don't have other machine and net framework 4.6.1, I also never "burned" anything so I'm not really sure how I should do this. Thank you for your time :)

    Hi Desolace,
Those files relate to windows Activation Technologies, (WAT).
They are only usually corrupted by activation exploits, or a when a pirated version of the OS is installed.
please run this tool, copy/paste the output

note the error showing in the CBS report is about Language packs, your version only allows the original language and NO others

    Hi,
After doing Torchwood's instructions confirm you need Win-7 sp1 Pro 64 bit English and I'll or someone can post a direct link for the download :)

Yes you will need to format the drive but the installation can do that too with the custom install
So be sure to move/ copy your personal files to a removable device First
    Clean Install Windows 7

Then you just need to use Rufus and Option 2 to get it ready for install with a flash drive
USB Windows 7 Installation Key Drive - Create

Go ahead and post one of these too
Disk Management - Post a Screen Capture Image
