    product key problem

I'm not sure how to get over this one. At present I can't get my PC to boot up for a number of reasons so I'm going down the reinstall route. Unfortunately I can't find my product key. I can connect my system hard drive to a different PC via a usb docking station but is there a way I can find the product key via this method?

    Hi Ash,
As you havn't filled in your specs its a bit more difficult to answer.
However either way do NOT post the complete key, last 3 blocks only.
From what you've stated about having 2 keys,
i suspect you have an OEM (factory built) computer this will have had a key PRE-installed, which i can easily check and verify.
AT some stage you have re-installed your OS and used the (back-up) key found on the OEM sticker attached to your comp.
(ie Dell W7 Pro 32bit OEM)
If you have a set of the Original discs from the OEM, and use them to re-install the OS its possible the system will autofill and validate without further input from you.
note you could have both 32/64 bit versions, key is valid for both

Thanks for the offer but my problem is solved as I've got the PC up and running again without a reinstall. It'a home build PC by the way, as are all my PC's
