    Hi ThrashZone,

I performed a clean install of W7, using the newer method i.e the 3 updates, including the 312 MB one.

    1. All went fine, smooth till activation and check for newer updates, which found approx 38/40 new important updates.

    2. Before installing any, ran sfc and found the same error?

    3. The older method, when installing using that, get more updates and more failed ones, but none sfc scan error....strange?

Hoping to hear your expert thoughts.

    Kind regards!

    Hi,
Very strange but if you cull through the update one might actually address sfc issues if memory serves me correctly :)

As long as you install kb308371 first then the other kb310281 2nd you should be fine :)
But indeed let use know how it goes as always

    Hi,

It went off fine, none sfc scan integrity violation message.

Now with online check for updates, displays approx 157 Important size 570 MB vs. 40 with the newer method, let's see how many failed I get this time.

With the newer method, got approx 5 failed, but never used to check sfc, till macrium restore was causing issues.

From what I recall with this got approx 20 failed, last I clean installed.....so not that bad?

Do I need to keep performing sfc scan at various steps,or it's fine performed thrice after installing Nvidia optional update?

    Your expert thoughts?

    Thanks. :)

    Hi,
I rarely run sfc unless just wondering which again is rare :)
I also don't load an update for nvidia through windows update system I just go directly to nvidia website and use the custom install
Seeing your using a laptop I suppose it's okay to do it through the update system
On my laptop I would install the chipset driver through windows update "if one shows up" but that is a Intel driver really not nvidia.

If you get sfc errors just post in a new question but I doubt it's reflects doing.
No telling why that is out of my ballpark :)

    Hi,

Earlier, I rarely ever ran sfc during a install.....but this time with the big update and restore issue, as recommended by an expert realized it's importance.

Wanted to know, where the problem was, in Macrium software, Rescue media or the method of install.

Anyhow, thanks again. Hope I get fewer failed updates max 20.....
