    windows update

If i try to do anything with the updater the windows jsut freezes. So I can't update anything or check for updates. Not that it matter cause windows 7 WONT SHUTDOWN, witch is another thing i need to find out how to fix. I tried shutting it down and 15 mins later still say shutting down. -_-

" Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them."

Not sure if this has fix any of the problems for me yet will go test it out.

Edit: Nope nothing was fixed everything that wasn't working still isn't working.

You'll be best off with a clean install.

thing is it was a clean install the only thing i can think of is it is not a "windows" CD it's the ISO burned from a student store so it could have been the install went wrong cause it was taking a long time to get some of that stuff done.

You could do a repair install, but either way your system integrity is borked...

Good idea. Make a USB key instead of burning if you can. That will eliminate potential burn errors from the mix.

Make bootable iso from student d/l

    From the link:

"Microsoft’s ISO Image for Windows 7 Now Available

There is additional information regarding the Windows 7 64-bit download process. For those customers of the Student Offer, who wish to install the 64-bit version of Windows 7, but are currently running a 32-bit Operating System, there is now an optional downloadable ISO file of Windows 7 64-bit to allow for install.

    - If you have already purchased the 64-bit version of Windows 7 from the Windows 7 Student Offer Online Store, please contact Digital River at the following link: http://windows7.digitalriver.com/servlet/PromoServlet/promoID.46354000
    · In the Web form select the Download Option in the drop down menu and include "64-bit Windows 7 Solution" in the first line of your problem description."
