driver, then try to roll it back in safe mode, then install the latest

Once the machine powered up properly, it ran well. Better even than before.
I powered it up and down- no weirdness, so I left on to see what would happen over night. This morning the PC wouldn't wake up- the power light was on and I could hear hard drive activity but screen was dark. I forced it into safe mode. Event logs showed a number of warnings and errors- Broadcomm reported network link down, bluetooth adapter failure, a platform firmware corruption across system power transition and WLAN Autoconfig service has successfully stopped. This all started shortly after
I went to bed so there must be a problem with the power management.
I did system restore and all is well for now.
