Have you used any activation cracks or patches to remove the watermark or send feedback, if so that is probably the cause and you will need to do a system restore or a repair install, check the tutorials for those options if you are unsure.

    Hi Mr Grim,

Firstly I downloaded the 64Bit beta from Microsoft, it was then build 7000 and used the key given to me by Microsoft. After a few weeks of playing around with this Windows 7 i found that my laptop just couldnt take the 64Bit version (in its current state! only 512mb ram etc) Also i couldnt get Windows live to install and everything was just too slow.

I looked through the forum and found a post that said the 32Bit version would run better on not so high spect systems like mine. I went back to the Microsoft website and found that dowloads were no longer available. I then downloaded a 32Bit build 7022 version from a torrent site and did a complete reinstall, using the same key.

Windows installed no problem and Yes is running very well on my low spec system and Windows Live installed no problem so I thought the key must be OK.

Also windows update was working with the 32Bit build. Maybe its some software that I have installed? I did download the Free download Manager software as I had a problem with all downloads from IE stopping at 99%

Do you think this is my problem?

    Regards

    Steve.....

Ps sorry for the long explanation......

this thing happened to one of my friends too... she had a problem with the network driver or so, but in her case she couldn't access at all the microsoft or any microsoft-related web pages. maybe is that...

You said you used the same Key?
I thought the keys were specific to 64bit and 32 bit. So if you tried to activate your newer 32 bit install with a 64 bit key, that would probably cause a failed activation attempt.

    Nope - I use nothing but FDM for my DLM and it has never once cause me any issues in Win7 - builds 6801 64bit, 7000 32bit and 64bit, 7048 32bit and 64bit, 706832bit and 64bit, and now 7077 32bit and 64bit.

That would be my guess as well - I have separate keys for each arch type- however, if I enter the wrong key in the wrong arch type it tells me right then and there that the key is invalid....

@steve - is the disc you downloaded 32bit only or a hybrid, containing both 32bit and 64bit 1 in 1 that allows you to pick which build to install?
