Win7 nagging update msg.

I am using Office XP on my Windows 7 machine and am constantly getting nagged about installing an update for it that I don't want. If I uncheck the update and click OK I just get nagged again about it. With XP you could check a box after refusing an update and didn't have to worry about constantly getting reminded of it. Is there a way to do this in Windows 7?

It really is good to install all updates, that one may be important. Install it.

You can just right click on the update when it's high lighted in blue, then choose to "hide update", it won't show up again after that.

Those updates show up but won't install if you already have a better driver or update installed. So unless you hide them they will keep bugging you.

go to c:\windows\system32\ and change the catroot2 folder to catroot2.old

if it does not pop up anymore you can delete the catroot2.old folder cause another catroot2 folder will auto generate anyway after you restart.

I have that problem with optional updates. I don't want the whole "Windows Live" package with "Windows Live Mail", and "Live Photos", and all that other junk.

I'll have to try your suggestion when I get home. If it works, +rep for you.

internal vs external HD discrepancies are nagging me
My new desktop has a 500gb hd installed. I purchased a 1T ext. HD to back up the desktop. After doing a backup I noticed that the ext. HD has 555gb of used space. The internal drive has 150gb of available space remaining. What is going on here? Oh yes, and when I add up the folder sizes on the...

Cheap fix for a nagging mouse problem...
My Logitech M315 still works great, but the little round glider pads came off, so it was "running" a bit rough. You can buy replacement pads, but the cost is prohibitive for a lower priced model such as the M315. However, I've found a neat & sweet fix: shiny cellophane tape. It works like a charm....

Nagging on non-existant drive
Once had an external drive (or camera??) on S:\ Now for no obvious reason W7 tries to access it and tries that every 5 secs, which makes the computer almost inoperable. When it happens I found it in My Computer, but trying to remove it fails. Only a restart helps. Then I checked Management but...

Adobe Flash Nagging
I'm running Windows7 RC1 64bit. Most internet pages want me to download Adobe Flash Player. I suppose no one has told Adobe that they don't have a 64bit player. So, whether I say yes, download it or no, don't download it, the nagging continues. Any suggestions for stopping it?
