I'd suggest force rebooting now. Maybe leave it for 2 more hours.

If anything happens, we can work on a repair.

Win 7

Hey guys! I have this same problem. Im stuck at 9/10 and been there for about 13 hours. Can't go to desktop, or do anything for that matter. I could try force reboot, but Im running Win 7 starter on a mini laptop, which has no dvd-drive. I don't believe I was supplied with a Win 7 disk either. Any ideas?

Don't worry about it fudex. I'm assuming because the previous poster did not reply, he took my suggestion, and nothing bad happened, so he didn't need to ask for more help.

The good news is that your netbook can boot from a USB drive. See this tutorial: System Repair Disc - Create

Near the bottom you will see a way to burn it to a USB drive.

I doubt you'll need it though. I recommend just force rebooting now.

Ok thanks Jonathan, I'll try it now.

Update: Sure enough, Windows started fine after the reboot and I was able to install the remaining updates.

Windows 7 stuck on Welcome after update
Last night, my computer automatically ran Windows Update when I turned it off. Now, this morning, it doesn't get past the 'Welcome' message when booting up. First, I tried to boot in safe mode and run system restore, but the oldest restore point did not fix the problem. It even made it worse,...

win update is still stuck installing update 6 of 12, 2 hours so far.
Hello. I was not installing, changing or doing any maintenance of any kind on my PC. The only recent change was that Firefox updated to a new version. There was a notice that updates were ready and I was turning my PC off anyway. 1-5 went quickly but I saw it stick on #6. That was two hours ago. ...

Windows Update won't update, stuck at 0%
My windows update does not like to load! It takes a very long time and sometimes causes explorer to crash! When I checked, I had 92 updates to install. When I click download and install, it would freeze and stay there for a long time. I tried to use the Fix it application, however that gets stuck...

Windows update stuck on 0%
Just as the title says. It is stuck on 0%. I waited for 30 minutes but no changes. Except for totally random BSOD caused by ntoskrnl.exe (SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED). One thing which I noticed was that it still wanted me to install updates while shutting down my computer.

Update stuck on 4 of 8
I have a HP G60 laptop. I upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 (32 bit) Home Premium with no problems. Everything runs great, but when I rebooted, I got a message that there is an update now in progress. As far as I could tell, it started at 4 of 8 (i don't recall seeing the previous 3 updates). It's...
