Uninstalled Office, but Updates still updating it

One of the first things I did with my laptop was to uninstall programs I didn't want, one of them being Microsoft Office.

And yet, every few days I get notifications from Windows Update that there are important updates that I should install for Office.

Is there any way I can keep it from trying to update Office?

Been there - done that - know it ain't easy!

At Microsoft's site there are these two pages that might help.
This may work for other versions of Office as well.

Let us know how it goes.

Go into Windows Update and uncheck the third box down.

He,he...I also had the same problem one year ago under Vista with Office 2007 (long history) -not pernamently uninstalled Office. It was really hard to pernamently uninstall it if you have Office 2007 corrupted.Apart what says KB928218 (@RadioJoe post),Office 2007 very strongly is embeded in NET Framework 2.0 components. Please confirm it's going on about Office 2007,if it is another version please let know us.

First try this special cleaner for Office 2007 Uninstall Microsoft Office 2007 in Vista and XP Raymond.CC Blog

If you still you will have the same problem, you have to penetrate NET Framework 2.0 components too - I'll help you in this if it will be really needed.
