How to delete corrupt driver from Windows Update ?

Several days ago I attempted to d/l NVIDIA GEFORCE 6800 GS pre release WDDM 1.0 driver via Windows Update. Somehow the driver failed to d/l properly and will not install and shows error code 80070006. I've tried to re d/l a fresh copy of the file, but that doesn't work. Can someone please tell where this file is located so that I may delete it and get a fresh d/l ? Remember this file seem to d/l but did not install if this helps finding it. Thanks.

    Updates are d/led to

    C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Downloads

Might not be easy to identify which one it is . I often delete the entire contents of that folder - once installed, they are not needed anymore.

    Hope it helps

Thanks for the quick reply. I deleted the contents of \Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Downloads and attempted a new d/l using Windows Update. At this point it says everything is up to date. Is there a way to force the Nvidia driver update, or should I just wait and see if it reschedules itself? Thanks again.

I suggest going to nVidia and use theirs:

    GeForce Release 181

    Bye.
