MUI not shown under windows update

    Hi all,
I'm not sure if this should go in the Windows update forum section.

About a month ago I hid all the languages from the Optional section under windows update. Now I wanted to install another language but when I go to windows update and click in 'Restore hidden updates' all I'm shown are a bunch of office updates I also hid since I don't have the products the updates are for (i.e. Access, Publisher, Info Path).

The weird thing is that I'm still receiving updates (so I don't think it's a problem with windows update), both important and optional but I can't find the MUI packs.

    My build is 7600

Do you know what could be the cause to this problem?

    Thank you very much.

Hello adrek, see if there's any useful info at this link below.

How do I get additional language files?

Well, there are two options there, one is the Windows update procedure and the other takes me to a LIP file of my language but for windows XP tablet.

Open an Elevated Command Prompt and type "slmgr -dli" without the quotes and see what comes up.

Pretty much the same, only that I got a license number listed there.

    Edit:
    And Professional instead of ultimate.

I just found an exe file for the language I want, so maybe I'll try that

    adrek,
Didn't your "hidden" updates show up when you chose to restore them?

Yes I removed mine so I could use the snip in public.

Let's see if anyone else has any suggestions for you to try, I'm fresh out for the moment; keep an eye on the thread as it may take a little time/maybe not, don't give up.
