    SP1 Out of Solutions

Im going back and forth pounding my head against a metal spike trying to figure out just why I cant install this, almost for the past week now. I get error code 80004005.
    I tried the following solutions
    Fix It (No availe)
Scan And Error Repair (Did Nothing)
Checked my computer upside down for malware.
And when I try the Reapir Install solution, it says "YOU MUST FIRST INSTALL SP1 TO CONTINUE" Ironic.
And my last resort of using the Contact Us button was denied.
A couple of other rather complicated solutions asking me to go into scripting.

So now I go on to the most frustrating part of fixing something. Asking the damn question myself on the forums. I have never had a succeful forum event in my life. Maybe Im missing something REALLY simple. I dont know, just so many things I have to fix giving me a headache. Please help.

11 minutes and only 1 view. Cant I just spend 5 hours on a phone and call you guys?

At least I would eventually know that you will pick up the phone.

    Oreally,

Starting a request for help with an insult is not a very good idea.

Than compounding your error by demanding attention eleven minutes later, will
most likely assure that no one will take the time to assist you.

Try saying " Please " sometime, It works much better.

    Good Luck

I don't know the solution, but since I just finished installing it, I'm wondering how you are trying to install it...from Windows Update, from a disk created from an ISO, or by using the EXE file? I used the latter without any problems.

    Oreally,

I can understand your frustration, on my fourth try it installed.

First time: During computer restart, it never shutdown
Second time: During startup, computer never did.
Third time: During startup, computer never did.
Fourth time" Bingo, O happy day , SP1 finally installed.

All previous attempts, I had to powered off the computer. During restart, system had to recover.

Why did the fourth time worked, I do not know. Why did the previous attempts not work, same answer.

Why did I try one more time? I do not know

I could never understand why the install previously not worked for me. Others had problems and others had none. whereas it worked for others.

    It was most frustrating.

    Good luck

    Stu

I don't know that it will help, but I did one thing installing SP1, that I never do. After reading a bunch of thread about problem installations of it, I took the advise on the installer, and shutdown every program, including those in the System Tray...even the firewall. I figured that if anybody was going to have trouble with the installation, it would be me. Fortunately, the first time was the charm.
